Welcome to Mary's Recipe Collections

The Story

I  started out using box food such as cake mix. Well, let's say the cake  didn't turn out the way I expected; it sunk in the middle. That is when I  started collecting recipes. I realized that my cakes looked like cakes  now. Next on my list was breads, cookies, pies, cheesecake, etc. I don't  give up that easily; I will master baking. Now I have learned not only  how to bake in an oven but in an electric roaster and a pizza oven. My  advice is don't give up on baking and cooking.  I use a flat wooden spoon to mix the ingredients.

Baking Tips

When  baking make sure the ingredients are not out dated. Keep cooking oil in  a cool dark place so it doesn't become rancid. I have a tote that I  store can food and cooking oil in which is sitting on the floor. Pasta,  and the flour container I store in the refrigerator. Baking soda I place  in a mason jar with a label. (Sorry, I don't want any cupboard flavored  cookies.) I use pure vanilla extract that I buy from Aldi (grocery  store). If there is dairy products in the bake goods I store them in the  refrigerator.

Always check the dates on the food package before buying it.
